The players selected by the Oilers in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft can basically be broken into two groups: the first rounders (Gagner, Plante and Nash) and the long-shots (Linus Omark, Milan Kytnar, and William Quist). With late-round draft picks, it’s very difficult to get any kind of read on them when they’re drafted; generally there are either big holes in their games or they’ve had such limited exposure that very few people outside of the professional scouts have an accurate read on them, a problem exacerbated when they’re in European leagues. A year out, however, fans can begin to make some general assumptions, so let’s take a look at what these three late-round Europeans did.

More than the other 2 I see Omark having a bright future with the Oilers organization. The kid can flat-out play. At the very least he's going to be a Patrick Thoresen, but his skill is much too great for his offense to disappear here in the NHL.
He put up Brunnstrom-like points at a younger age, with reduced minutes. You can't help but believe that after working out a bit this guy could become something special.
Jonathan: Good luck with the new arrangements ... your stuff certainly deserves a wide audience and this added exposure should help in that respect. At the same time, it should help bring a wider audience to Oilers Nation ... I know that blog went on my favourites list as of today. I've been resisting up 'til now cuz I hate that whole "Nation" bullshit on principle, but as of now the blog is too good to ignore.
Only concern is where best to post comments? There may well wind up being two independent threads (not that such threads are necessarily that coherent anyway).
My default position is to continue to reply here on Copper & Blue as I have since early days, but I guess that'll depend on whether I'm responding to your initial post or to somebody else's reply.
One other question: will you typically post to both sites, or will you sometimes do pieces specific to one or the other? I note today a new "Hatchlings" piece on ON without the promised teaser here.

Yeah, I like Omark. The other two I have pretty much written off, although this season could be a big one for Kytnar in a big role with quality linemates.

That was my mistake; I got in a rush and than had to go to work without dual-posting like I normally do.
For now, I will probably be putting everything up at OilersNation with a link here, but when we get a little closer to the season and there are more things to comment on, I will probably have some unique content on both sites.
